Multicultural Sensitivity Training
Multicultural Trainings increase awareness of not only others but also ourselves.
I offer a wide variety of multicultural sensitivity trainings that can be provided to a corporation, group, staff, or organization. Multicultural sensitivity trainings can be useful for virtually anyone, including teachers, professionals, clinicians, doctors, parents, families, siblings, and students themselves.
Multicultural sensitivity trainings can include the examination of numerous identities that are often important to people such as:
- Race/Ethnicity
- Sex
- Gender identity
- Sexual Orientation
- Socioeconomic Status
- Religion
These educational trainings can also include a variety of cultural and identity concepts and topics including but not limited to:
- Identity Development
- Power and Privilege
- Oppression and Discrimination
- Isms (Racism, Sexism, Classism, Heterosexism)
- Microaggressions
- Minority Stress
- Resiliency
- Being An Ally
Experiential Trainings
Particularly useful for students and trainees are my Multicultural Experiential Self-Awareness Trainings. These trainings engage people in activities to help them better understand not only their own identities and how they feel about those identities, but also how their own identities impact and interact with the identities of others around them. I utilize experiential, in-the-moment activities that trainees take part in to highlight and increase their awareness of cultural issues, both their own and those of others too.
Other Trainings:
In addition to Multicultural Sensitivity Trainings described above, I also provide trainings for Clinicians, Students, Community Members, Places of Worship, and for Practicum, Internship, and/or Fellowship Training Seminars.
These trainings and staff education programs include:
- Non-Suicidal Self-Injury
- Eating Disorders
- Women’s Issues
- Self-Awareness
- Substance Abuse & LGBTQ, Eating Disorders & LGBTQ
